Glass Knuckles Press

Every year, we spotlight the voices that refuse to be ignored. The Underdog Prize is our commitment to the overlooked. We invite you to submit your most raw and compelling work to be considered for this prestigious recognition. The first prize winner receives $150 to support their creative journey.

General Call: Glass Knuckles Press is seeking raw, gritty, and provocative poetry, fiction, and nonfiction for our inaugural issue. We want compelling work that explores the underdog experience: being weathered, knocked down, and perhaps getting up again. Emerging and established writers are welcome. First place receives the Underdog Prize and a $150 honorarium. Multiple entries are welcome, with a $5 fee required for each entry. A $10 expedited-response option, with a response time of one to three weeks, is also available. Our $5 Cover Art Contest is open as well. Submissions run September 1–30, 2026. Show us your bruises. Your black eyes. See our Submission Guidelines for complete details.
